Just updating the site's look slightly.
08/14/02
I've updated Storm Vale
with a new pic,
Proto-Maps with a new map, and added
a new section,
Mapping Hints, which has little nuggets
of useful
information and tricks that I have picked up.
Alice is perfecting the textures for Meatpit,
and I am preparing new betas of Temple
and
Deep Qantas's map Noir.
Lots of Goodies soon.
07/31/02
Well it's been an interesting month.
Kismet
is done, and is now renamed StormVale.
You'll be seeing a lot of it soon, trust me :)
And hopefully Noir
and Meatpit
shortly after.
I've also taken charge of finishing up Noir
for DeepQantas since he doesn't have time.
Basically, expect a bunch of cool stuff
from me over the next couple months!
07/07/02
I'm still working on 3 maps...
Temple is now in closed beta-testing,
but you can get betas of Meatpit
and
Kismet
on the AHLMD forums here:
Meatpit
Beta 3
[old link removed]
The pages here are updated with new pics and info.
Kismet
will be one of the first maps to use AHL's
new weather effects, check out its page for more
info. It and Temple
may be a while longer, but
expect Meatpit
fairly soon.
06/02/02
I've
started fully updating the site.
*added
sections for Meatpit, Temple,
and Kismet.
*added "Proto-Maps" section
for very early stuff.
Next I
will be updating the mapping links,
and perhaps assembling a new wad.
I may do a 'best of' wad of the other wads too,
since they were not that hot ;)
Meatpit
is progressing nicely; I'm tweaking while
Alice works on the texturing, there will
probably be one more beta before release.
Temple is also close to completion.
Expect one more beta of it before release,
I need the 'nuke' tested in-game!
Thanks to some help from Alice and Banana,
the r_speeds are under control too!
When will they be released?
When they are done!
That should be sometime soon though...
05/25/02
A
new beta of Meatpit is out,
check it out here!
Almost ready for release!
I will add final pics and a download here
when it is done, I'm behind in updating!
Goldeneye Temple is also progressing nicely.
There should be a finalish beta soon,
I'm working on integrating a 'crossfire effect'
on the map but I want to keep it balanced.
Recent pics and beta for it are here.
Also, I have added local downloads for
ahl_hypersanctum
and ahl_gebasement
since AHLMD's
3DDownloads links are crap.

Talk
about slacking! Yes, I've still been mapping.
I just
haven't been updating this page since I
usually show all my stuff on the messageboards.
Anyway, here's what's up. GE Temple has turned
into a really cool map, scarcely resembles the
original base map. I'm also working on a small silly
map called "Meatpit". Mloclam is helping
me with the textures on it, and it's very fun.
Also, I just talked with the mapper manah about
converting his open-sourced map "kismet" to AHL,
so that's another project I'm starting.
I will be updating this page with preview pics
and betas of these maps over the next couple weeks.
Pics and betas of GE Temple and Meatpit
are available on the AHL Map Depot Message
Board if you can't wait. Laters!

Well
the excitement never ends here I guess!
I took some time yesterday to put together a fifth
texture wad for AHL/VS mappers. As usual,
it's a bit of a grab-bag, and this one also has some vamp
images that VS mappers might like for their maps.
Anyway, take a look, with 100 textures
in there,
you're sure to find at least a couple you can use! ;)

AHLMD
has a new reviewer, [AC]Kissamies,
and a review
of ahl_gebasement is up!
It's quite sharp and detailed, and very positive overall;
knowing the map as well as I do, I think he did a great job.
Although it was a quick map, I think it's pretty fun
and I'm pleased that it's getting a lot of downloads!
I'm working on GE Temple off and on;
I expect to have it out in a few weeks.
Like GE Basement, expect the general
layout to be close to
the original, but with enhanced textures and lighting.
Also expect some details to enhance gameplay,
like more cover and whatnot.
In non-mapping news, I recently joined [iSk],
they are a great bunch of guys to game with,
or to run a new map beta through the rounds!
Also, grad school starts up again in a week for me.
I'm going to be working on my MA/PhD a lot,
so mapping will probably be back burner for awhile.
I'll still be around bugging people though,
especially since I'm going to be studying online culture
in general, and online gaming and the
mod scene specifically somewhat.
For those of you who don't know, I'm a grad student
in cultural anthropology. After getting some really positive
feedback on some papers/presentations I've done about
online culture/subculture I recently decided to focus on
it as an area of specialization. w00t! ;)

Happy Birthday to me, and what better present than
a
glowing review of vs_hypersanctum!
Many thanks to Magilla of
VS
Warehouse for the great review!
01/11/02
I just updated the Hypersanctum
page
with final pics and the appropriate download links.
Also added a couple more mapping links.
My birthday
is tomorrow, I turn 27,
OH GOD I AM SO OLD! D:
01/10/02
I
have finished the Vampire
Slayer
version of Hypersanctum.
For the moment you can pick it up here:

Well
I decided to do a "one-day map"...
and the result is the update of Goldeneye
Basement
that I've been thinking about doing.
Anyway, it's actually quite fun for such a small
map, so give it a try. I made both AHL
and
Vampire Slayer
versions of the map.
I'm also finishing up the VS version of Hypersanctum
which should be out this weekend on
VS
Warehouse I hope.
I'm also starting an AHL/VS version of Temple
from
Goldeneye for fun; my next serious map will probably
be a gothic-industrial bar, I think I'm shelving
terrordrome for now.
01/05/02
Sorry
for the delay in updating.
Hypersanctum
was Map of the Week on the new
AHLMD, get
it here!
It also comes with Springer's
wonderful Maggie reskin, "Mae". I'll be updating
that page soon with final pics, and I still want
to do a Vampire
Slayer version of it as well as a
HLDM version.
My
next map is probably going to be
ahl_terrordrome, based on the Cobra Firebat
launchbase from GIJOE/Action Force. Should
have some early pics in a few weeks!
Other
misc news and updates:
-added Map Ideas section
-added link to my new WebCam
-updated Mapping Links section
-VS mappers can use my wads if they like
Thanks
for all the help and support the AHL
mapping community has given me, I never would
have finished ahl_hypersanctum without you guys!
12/14/01
Hypersanctum
is basically done,
and
will be out on AHLMD this weekend!
No
time to update the webpage for it atm,
but
why look at pics when you can
have
the real thing?!
11/19/01
I have
another beta of hypersanctum
for
testing. (removed 12/14)
11/13/01
Added
a couple zips of my old spray logos.
Added
contact information.
11/11/01
Just
added the Links page; a ton of sites for mappers there! I also redid
the Texture page; I revamped the first two wads and uploaded two more
for a total of 4 wads for AHL mappers. Vampire Slayer mappers are also
welcome to use these for maps for that mod.
